St. Andrews has played host to numerous PGA golf exhibitions led by touring pros such as Phil Mickelson, Arnold Palmer, John Daly and Rocco Mediate, and is the home course to LPGA Touring Professional and resident Morgan Pressel. St. Andrews, along with Aaron Krickstein, Director of Tennis, host a variety of exhibition matches with ATP Tour such as Jimmy Connors, Andy Roddick, Jim Courier, Ivan Lendl and Jimmy Arias.

St. Andrews has a no-tee-time policy on its Arnold Palmer Signature Design and Tommy Fazio II courses. Typical playing time is under four hours, and should you choose you can literally roll out of bed and head to the first tee without being held up.

The community has a long history of attracting the best of the best.  Bob Toski, PGA Tour champion and a past number one ranked golf instructor in America, joined St. Andrews in 1979 as its first director of golf and is the Pro Emeritus. Long known for his relationship with Golf Digest Schools, Toski quickly set the standard for the club’s golf programming and education.

In 1994, Martin Hall, one of Golf Magazine’s “Top-100 Teachers,” joined St. Andrews Country Club as an instructor while studying under the guidance of Toski. He was later promoted to director of instruction and with his tutelage, Morgan Pressel began her professional golf journey becoming an LPGA superstar.

Martin Hall is currently listed as one of “America’s Best Teachers” by Golf Digest. As a former assistant to Toski, he continues a tradition of innovative instruction.

“Premier golf instruction is a proud tradition of St. Andrews Country Club,” said Craig D. Martin, CCM, COO/GM. “Our Golf Performance Center goes to great lengths to provide the latest teaching tools including an indoor hitting bay, V1 Digital Coaching System, and FlightScope Launch Monitor technologies. You have heard of celebrity chef visits; at St. Andrews we have celebrity instructor outings. Past exhibitions have been led by Phil Mickelson, Rocco Mediate, and the always colorful John Daly.”

Aaron Krickstein, nine-time ATP Tour titlist and youngest player to win an ATP Tour event oversees St. Andrews Country Club’s tennis complex.

“My three older sisters played tennis, so the sport came naturally to me,” recalled Krickstein. “By the time I was 12 years old, I was number one in the country in the 12U division. Our family moved to Florida for me to face the world’s best and I turned pro at 16.

“Funny how things come full circle,” chuckled Krickstein. “I trained at St. Andrews as a teenager and now I have been director of tennis here for 17 years!”

One week before starting his role at St. Andrews, Aaron had a panic attack and couldn’t get out of bed. “I was frozen in fear,” remembered Krickstein. “I almost quit before I started. I knew how to perform on the court, but a managerial position was out of my wheelhouse. My dad had a stern heart-to-heart talk with me and convinced me I was the man for the job.”   Today, Aaron manages three full-time teaching pros and one of the largest tennis operations in Florida. “Tennis is not an afterthought at St. Andrews. I think my years of competition gave me a different teaching perspective. Similar to how I had to size up opponents, I must evaluate how students are likely to learn best. You quickly discover on the court there are all types of people and personalities. I supervise all aspects of our tennis operations, but I must admit, I still have a fondness for being on the court.”

Culinary options have been evolutionary instead of revolutionary. St. Andrews has been fortunate to have seasoned culinary teams that have worked in the kitchens for many years providing a menu that’s wholesome and ever-changing. St. Andrews doesn’t provide lip service to nutrition. In the lower level clubhouse terrace, there’s a garden with 15 different herbs that allow chefs the ability to creatively reduce the use of butter and oil without sacrificing taste.

Attracting new members who appreciate the highest quality of facilities and service has been the club’s mission from day one. “Our Club Improvement Plan has played a significant role in attracting younger and more diverse members by creating recreation and dining areas that promote spaces for families of all ages to enjoy,” said Martin. “Continuously improving our amenities and offering the best of everything to our membership gives us that “X” Factor to stand apart from other clubs in the area.”

For the third year in a row, St. Andrews Country Club has been recognized as one of the top ten healthiest clubs in America by Prevo Health Solutions. This distinction is awarded to a select percentage of private clubs who must excel in specific criteria such as providing healthy menu items to members and staff, accommodating health-related needs and providing an array of activities that leverage the amenities and facility.

In addition to superior amenities and service, residents at St. Andrews enjoy once in a lifetime experience such as courtside seats to the Jimmy Connors and Aaron Krickstein Reunion Exhibition held last February. Other exclusive events include the Annual Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Tournament featuring resident LPGA touring professional, Morgan Pressel and friends. The Annual Camp St. Andrews Color War is another member favorite event where the entire membership, regardless of age, gather together and compete for the championship title. Hence the motto, St Andrews is where neighbors become friends and friends become family.

With 727 single-family luxury estate homes in one exclusive neighborhood set over a lushly landscaped 700+ acres, St. Andrews has earned a reputation for excellence with its, “best-of-the-best” security. From the manned and gated entryway to the on-site Medical Response Team, the security services are quietly and inconspicuously ever present. Throughout the community, guard dogs accompany 24-hour, armed foot patrols, while a state-of-the-art, 24-hour, infrared perimeter system alerts the security force of any intrusion onto the grounds. Every home is monitored around the clock.
